EMBROIDERY

Embroidery is the process of sewing a digitised design onto a garment.

Digitising is the process of creating a stitch pattern from your graphic image that can be uploaded onto the embroidery machine.

Embroidery looks great, is very durable and can give a garment a mark of quality. It is most commonly used to create logo designs as it is a cost effective way of producing a multi-colour image over a small area.

Corporate Tiger uses the latest computerised embroidery machinery to create or copy your company, team or club designs onto polo shirts, t/shirts, sweatshirts or virtually any garment.

DIRECT TO GARMENT (DTG)

(DTG) is a process of printing on textiles using specialised ink jet technology. DTG printers hold the garment in a fixed position, and use specialty inks that are applied to the textile directly by the print head and are absorbed by the garment’s fibers; these features prevent the distortion seen with some other textile printing techniques.

Direct to garment is a relatively new technology that emerged in the 90s. It became commercially available in 2005 but has only recently become a viable alternative to traditional production methods, but is still only offered by a handful of t-shirt printers.

This process lends itself well for smaller run projects.

VINYL PRINTING

Despite being a printing technique, no actual printing is involved. A machine cuts high-quality vinyl into the shape of your desired design, then it is applied to a shirt using heat.

Due to its complex nature, it’s not ideal for mass printing and bulky designs do not work very well. Transfers and Vinyl often separate from the garments in tumble dryers or after multiple washes.

SUBLIMATION

Dye-sublimation printing (or dye-sub printing) is a printing technique which uses heat to transfer dye onto materials such as a plastic, card, paper, or fabric, like mugs, keyring and coasters. When heated, the ink turns into a gas and transfers the image onto the substrate and is normally colourfast and permanent.

LARGE FORMAT

Large format printing is, essentially, the printing of large graphics or designs onto large rolls of paper (or other materials). It requires the use of specialist equipment and ink, and much larger printers than standard commercial units.

Large format printing can be used for items like PVC banners, flags, large posters, stickers and car graphics.

DIGITAL PRINT

Digital printing differs from traditional, analog printing methods–such as offset printing–because digital printing machines do not require printing plates. Instead of using metal plates to transfer an image, digital printing presses print the image directly onto the media substrate. Ideal for short run, quick turnaround jobs like posters, business cards, menus and booklets.
